Dix Park is the perfect location to host your next event. The park offers both indoor and outdoor venues that can accommodate a variety of events, including weddings, family reunions, performances and corporate events. Outdoor venues include shaded picnic areas, hillsides with views of the Raleigh skyline and wide-open fields. Indoor venues are currently limited to the Greg Poole, Jr. All Faiths Chapel.
The Chapel

Overlooking downtown Raleigh, the historic Greg Poole, Jr. All Faiths Chapel is framed by a rectangular Event Lawn, concrete front terrace, and idyllic Healing Garden. Originally constructed in 1955 and renovated in 2020, the Chapel preserves much of its mid-century modern architecture and understated charm. Notable features include original stained-glass windows, terrazzo floors, silver-leaf mural, upstairs lounge, and interior balcony.

Event Lawn at The Chapel

The Chapel at Dix Park features an Event Lawn that may be reserved for outdoor gatherings and events independent of renting the indoor Chapel venue. The Event Lawn is a rectangle grass lawn surrounded by flowerbeds, shade trees, a brick seating wall, and concrete pathways.

3,200 square feet. Will accommodate tents up to 40’ x 40’ (not provided by venue).

Shaded Picnic Areas

Magnolia Room and Oak Room are Dix Park’s two reservable picnic and play areas with shaded seating that are perfect for birthday parties and social gatherings.
Please note: Rental includes shaded picnic area and grill. The shade structure does not provide coverage from rain. Swings and benches may not be reserved and are expected to be shared with park visitors.

Outdoor Classroom

The Outdoor Classroom is an inviting and versatile space located at the Stone House Visitor Center. This thoughtfully designed area is equipped with patio furniture and built-in amphitheater style seating, perfect for small gatherings. This space offers a stunning view of rolling hills and is adjacent to the ATTUN art sculpture, adding a touch of artistic charm to your event. Enjoy the convenience of nearby parking, permanent restrooms, and accessible pathways.
Note: The Stone Houses Visitor Center is open to the public on Saturdays & Sundays 9am - 5pm. Public restrooms are open 8am - 8pm daily.

Adams Field

A generous expanse of flat landscape located directly across from the Big Field. Simple yet flexible, Adams Field accommodates events both large and small. An ideal venue for sporting, training, and outdoor games.
Available to rent Monday-Friday after 5:00pm and during regular park hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Frequently Asked Questions
All outdoor spaces at Dix Park are open to the public from dawn until dusk 7 days-a-week. Spaces are available for use on a first come, first serve basis for small gatherings, picnics and non-commercial events.
A Dix Park event rental and/or permit is required if any of the following is true:
- Reserved space is desired for your event
- You want to set-up tents or event rentals, use generators, rent temporary restrooms, etc.
- Alcohol would be served
- Your event is commercial in nature (cost to attend, etc.)
- Your outdoor event would have over 200 participants
Dix Park event rentals are managed by Staff with City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department.

Dix Park offers three rentable zones to accommodate luxury picnic businesses. Rental reservations are required for all commercial picnic businesses. Book up to 30 days in advance.
