Join us for the Capital City Juneteenth Celebration!

The community is invited to an afternoon of reflection and festivity in honor of Juneteenth (June 19th) – the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the abolition of slavery in the United States.  

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy entertainment, kids activities, vendors and food at this community celebration presented by the Capital City Juneteenth Committee, City of Raleigh, and Dix Park Conservancy.

  • Walking will be necessary in and around the event area. Please note, portions of the event have uneven surfaces.
  • Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please use your best judgement to determine if your pooch will enjoy the crowd and noise.

Temporary restrooms will be available throughout the event site. Indoor and ADA restrooms are available in Gipson Play Plaza

In the event of inclement weather, elements of the event may be moved indoors to the Chapel.
