Birdwatching

• Pack your binoculars and let’s go birding together. No Binoculars? No problem! 15 pairs of sanitized binoculars are available for use during the program, first come first served.
• This program occurs outdoors the entire time. Dress for the weather.
• Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are recommended for walking up hills, in grass and on uneven surfaces.

• Follow signs towards Visitor Center
• Parking is located across Umstead Drive and at The Chapel, Lot C

If there is inclement weather, the program will be canceled and registered participants will be notified by Eventbrite email.

• Temporary restrooms and water stations are available throughout the park.
• Public restrooms are located at Stone Houses and Gipson Play Plaza.

Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for all park improvements and development.

Parking: ADA parking spaces for the Stone Houses Visitor Center are behind the building. ADA parking spaces are available in all lots.

Restrooms: Indoor accessible restrooms are available at the Stone Houses and Gipson Play Plaza. Temporary restrooms including ADA facilities are throughout the park.
