About the Exhibit
For the past four years, Living in Color has become a premiere Black History Month celebration of creativity, shining a spotlight on over 100 artists of every medium, style, and stage in their artistic journey.
Curated by Raleigh Film and Art Festival and hosted in partnership with Dix Park, this riveting exhibit is a month-long display of visual art representing the experience of people of color living in the south.
Call For Artists
Raleigh Film and Art Festival's application is open for the 5th annual Living in Color exhibition. Living in Color will embody artwork created by artists of color from the South and a across the US. The exhibit is open to adults as well as youth in middle and high school. Learn more and apply by November 13, 2026.

2026 Raleigh Medal of Arts Recipient
The Raleigh Medal of Arts is awarded for transformative, imaginative, and innovative achievement in the practice or support of the local arts.
The 2026 Raleigh Medal of Arts Award Ceremony will take place on October 19, 2026 at NC State University's Stewart Theatre.

- Parking is located in the lots next to and in front of the Chapel. ADA parking is available.
Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for all park improvements and development.
Parking: ADA parking spaces for the Chapel are to the left and out front of the building. ADA parking spaces are available in all lots.
Chapel Entrance: Ramp and ADA push button activated door is located to the left of the front of the building.
Restrooms: Indoor accessible restrooms are available in the Chapel.
