Event Details

Juneteenth (June 19th) is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the abolition of slavery in the United States. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, family activities, vendors and food at this community celebration presented by the Capital City Juneteenth Committee, City of Raleigh, and Dix Park Conservancy!

Know Before You Go

  • Please come prepared for the weather and be mindful of staying hydrated and protected from the sun.
  • Walking will be necessary in and around the event area. Please note, portions of the event have uneven surfaces.
  • Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please use your best judgement to determine if your pooch will enjoy the crowd and noise.

Temporary restrooms will be available throughout the event site. Indoor and ADA restrooms will be available in Gipson Play Plaza at House of Many Porches and the public restroom building. 

If there is inclement weather, the event will be canceled and registered participants will be notified through Facebook.
