Event Details

Craft a bluebird house, create nature-inspired art, and learn how you can help protect vital grassland ecosystems.

Join ecologists from the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation and Dix Park 2025 Artist-in-Residence , Preston Montague for a hands-on workshop celebrating and protecting grassland ecosystems through the lens of the iconic bluebird.

This session is a hands-on workshop where participants will build climate-resilient bluebird houses and create nature-inspired art under Montague’s guidance.

Perfect for educators, artists, and nature lovers—no science or art experience needed, just curiosity and a desire to make a difference.

This program was developed in collaboration with Preston Montague, Dix Park 2025 Artist in Residence. As part of his residency, Preston is exploring how art and ecology intersect to deepen our connection with the natural world. This experience is one of several offerings that bring his vision to life through creative, place-based learning.
