Stay Prayed Up: Film Screening + Live Performance

Join Dix Park Conservancy, Southern Documentary Fund and NC Humanities  for a film screening of Stay Prayed Up - a fast-paced, foot-thumping documentary that follows 83-year-old Lena Mae Perry and The Branchettes as they prepare to record their first, fully live album with charismatic musician and gospel-enthusiast, Phil Cook.

This uplifting film was an official selection at Telluride Film Festival and NYC Doc Fest, and has received praise from the NY Times, which calls it "inspiring in the ways of both shaking the rafters and invoking peace in the valley."

After the screening, we're in for a real treat as Lena Mae Perry & The Branchettes take the stage of the Dix Park Chapel and inspire us with an amazing and uplifting live performance!

Following the film, there will be a curated conversation with the directors of the film, Southern Documentary Fund, and a noted music scholar.

Don't miss this night of community, song, and soulful celebration!

Time: 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: Chapel Event Center at Dix Park, 1030 Richardson Drive, Raleigh, NC, 27603
