Dix Park Garden Volunteers
Garden Volunteers work alongside Raleigh Parks staff helping with horticulture needs across the park. The Garden Volunteers meet the last Wednesday of every month from 9 am- 12 pm. Dix Park Garden Volunteer details and application.

Summer Youth Crew at Dix Park
Join Conservation Corps North Carolina's day youth crew to get hands-on experience working in a local park to become a confident steward of our natural resources and a leader in your community. The Crew will be supported by Raleigh Parks staff and partners who will provide environmental science, outdoor education, leadership, park management, and other education opportunities.
CCNC Youth Crew Member - Ages 15-18
The Raleigh Youth Crew partners with the City of Raleigh to complete trail maintenance and construction, habitat restoration, forestry, and park improvement projects at Dorothea Dix Park. Crew members will have the opportunity to explore a variety of natural resource work and become confident stewards of Dix Park, one of the nation’s largest and most innovative urban parks.
- Session 1 Dates: June 13 - July 8, 2022
- Session 2 Dates: July 11 - August 5, 2022
CCNC Staff Crew Leader - Ages 21+
Conservation Corps North Carolina’s Staff Raleigh Crew Leader will lead two four-week youth day crews that will accomplish natural resource work and participate in environmental education activities at Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park. The Raleigh Crew Leader is expected to provide project expertise and offer mentorship, training, and support to six to eight youth (ages 15-18) crew members each day of their service work. The position is multi-faceted and demanding, but with opportunities for enormous rewards.
