CANCLED Wings Community Picnic
Unfortunately the weather forecast is consistently poor leading up to and on Saturday, March 12th. In consideration of safety for attendees and staff we are cancelling the Wings of the City Community Picnic. Due to the Wings exhibit departing the park over the next few weeks, this event will not be rescheduled.
Before the Wings of the City exhibit leaves Raleigh, join us for our Wings of the City Community Picnic to celebrate Mexican culture and build community through art, live music and food.
We're closing the roads to vehicles around the Wings of the City statues so everyone can safely stroll or roll along the exhibit route to see all the statues.
Art
VAE Raleigh and Dix Park Conservancy have come together to create an interactive experience "Wings of the City: Make Your Mark". Community members are invited to add to paintings inspired by Wings that will be later displayed at the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh. Canvases will be at the Community Picnic and VAE's pop-up spot downtown at 120 Wilmington Street from March 4 – March 30.
Art and poetry inspired by the Wings of the City exhibit will also be on display.
