Buried Stories & Histories Denied - Interpretation Workshop

Join us for a series of community workshops focused on how the Dix Park site might become a space for storytelling, remembrance, reflection, connection, and healing. Community members are welcome to join one or multiple workshops and share their ideas.

Buried Stories & Histories Denied

At the Dix Park site, the experiences of many individuals and communities have been marginalized or erased. In this workshop, we’ll explore how the park might bring these stories back to visibility and create places for remembrance and reflection.

You might be interested in this workshop if

  • Your family and community stories have been erased or denied
  • You have stories about your ancestors or your personal experience with the Dix site that should not be forgotten
  • You want the park to play an active role as a Site of Conscience

This conversation will be led by Brocade Studio, an interpretive planning and facilitation consultancy, who are creating a Cultural Interpretation Plan for Dix Park.

Childcare will be provided during the workshop for children ages 5-12 years old.

Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: The Chapel at Dix Park, 1030 Richardson Drive Raleigh, NC 27603

Registration: RSVPs are encouraged.
