Our natural world is filled with talented architects from beavers to birds to bees! Children will become architects as they come to understand how wild creatures create and build.
Event Details
Children will have fun learning all about animal feet with this engaging program. Games, songs plus live creatures with interesting feet will bring this program to life!
This program is for children ages 2-6 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please arrive a few minutes before 11:00 am. We know that sometimes late arrivals can't be helped, but arriving late can disrupt the attention of the group.
This program is free to the public thanks to Raleigh Parks Nature Programs.
Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Oak Room Picnic Shelter, 691 Palmer Drive, Raleigh, NC, 27603
Registration: While free to attend, space is limited. Registration is required. Please register each child, adults do not need to register.
Registration opens 2 weeks in advance at 12:00 pm.
Know Before You Go
- This program takes place outdoors on the grass.
- Please dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- Temporary restrooms and water fountain are on-site.
- Indoor restrooms are available at the Stone Houses Visitor Center.
Directions and Parking
- Via Western Boulevard: Enter at S. Boylan Avenue
- Via Lake Wheeler Road: Enter at Umstead Drive
- Turn onto Palmer Drive.
- Parking is located above the picnic shelter.
Accessibility
Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities.
