Dix Hospital Patients & Families - Interpretation Workshop

Join us as we gather former Dix Hospital patients and families to share stories and explore how the Dix Park site might become a space for remembrance, reflection, connection, and healing.

Anyone who is a former Dix Hospital patient or family member of a patient is welcome to join.

If you are unable to attend this event but would like to contribute your thoughts, please share them at our cultural interpretation plan online engagement hub.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Your and others’ personal experiences with Dix Hospital
  • What stories you and others would like to have remembered in the park
  • How you and others might like to experience these stories in the park
  • What types of exhibits, artworks, or natural spaces you and others might find helpful to repair harms experienced and promote healing

This conversation will be led by Brocade Studio, an interpretive planning and facilitation consultancy, who are creating a Cultural Interpretation Plan for Dix Park.

Dinner and refreshments will be provided.

Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: John Chavis Memorial Park Community Center, Room 2, 505 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard Raleigh, NC 27601

Registration: RSVPs are encouraged.
