Diwali Mandala Street Painting

In Celebration of Diwali, join us for Mandala Street Painting, presented by VAE Raleigh and Dix Park Conservancy.

Diwali Mandala Street Painting invites families and groups of friends to create mandala art in Dix Park as short-term public art in celebration of Diwali. Mandalas represent how everything in the universe is connected, a lovely way to honor unity in our community.

The celebration of Diwali can be traced back to ancient India. There are different legends associated with Diwali that vary from region to region in India. It is one of the oldest and widest celebrated festivals, and today, the Diwali celebration continues to be a significant cultural event. Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights. It is a time to celebrate the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, hope over despair. It is a time when the community gathers to rejoice, and we’ll do that this year through art. Join us to create mandala chalk art to celebrate Diwali at Dix Park.

The artworks will remain on view until dusk on Sunday, November 7th.
