Little Explorers- A Shell for a Home
A Shell for a Home: Can you imagine carrying a shell on your back both day and night? Children will discover animals that do just that! We'll play games, sing songs and see and touch live snails and turtles.
This program is for children ages 2-6 only. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Oak Lawn at Dix Park, 691 Palmer Drive, Raleigh, NC, 27603
Registration: Space is limited, registration required. Please register each child, adults do not need to register. This event is free to the public thanks to Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy donors.

Know Before You Go

Walking in grass and on uneven surfaces will be necessary. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Port-a-johns and water fountain are available near the program location.
Accessibility
Dorothea Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dorothea Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.
Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in all lots.
Restrooms: Accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Indoor accessible restrooms are available in the newly renovated Chapel.
