Come join us at Dorothea Dix in an invasive plant removal volunteer activity. Invasive plants threaten our natural habitats for wildlife and create hazardous conditions along our greenway trails. Removing these plants allows native species to flourish and helps provide healthy homes for wildlife.
9:00am - 12:00pm
Location: Tate Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603
Know Before You Go:
Attire: Please wear sturdy, closed toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Staff will provide gloves, tools, snacks, water and a first aid kit with insect repellent and sunscreen.
Food and Restrooms: There are no bathrooms in the park and no drinkable water, so please plan to bring a water bottle and come prepared to only have port-a-johns available. Walking in grass and up and down hills may be necessary.
Notes: Ages 16 and up; volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Per Department policies, the volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed community service hours.
